Dashboard Layouts
Lay out a dashboard once and it fits every screen size, or arrange it in one click
Overview
You lay out a dashboard for the desktop, and every smaller screen follows. On a medium screen the layout scales down; on a tablet or a phone the cards reflow in reading order, two to a row or one to a row, so nothing is squeezed or cut off.
- Arrange lays out a sheet in one click: KPIs in a row on top, charts in pairs, tables full width.
- New cards land in the right place. A KPI joins the KPI row on top, a chart pairs with a lone chart in the last row, and a table or text card goes to the end at full width.
- Preview every size while you edit. Switch between Desktop, Tablet and Phone, and customize the tablet or phone layout when you want it different.
Arrange a sheet
While you edit a dashboard, click Arrange in the toolbar. The open sheet is laid out by kind on every screen size:
- An introductory text card stays on top, full width.
- KPIs share a row (one KPI fills the row, two take half each, three a third, four a quarter).
- Charts follow in pairs.
- Tables go full width, then any other text.
To keep your cards in the order they are in and only tidy their sizes and gaps, open the menu next to Arrange and choose Keep my order.
A message confirms the change with an Undo button that puts the sheet back exactly as it was. Nothing is saved until you click Save.
Edit for each screen size
While you edit, the screen-size button next to the notifications bell opens a bar at the bottom of the sheet that switches between Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, Phone and Small phone, each with the width it stands for. Close the bar when you're done; you're back to editing Desktop. The sheet shows at that size, scaled to fit your window when needed (the zoom shows on the bar), and stays there while you drag and resize.
- Desktop is the layout everything else follows. When your window is narrower than a desktop screen, for example with the assistant open, you edit Desktop at laptop width; your changes still apply to Desktop.
- Tablet and Phone follow the desktop layout until you move or resize a card there. Then that size is marked Edited for tablet (or phone) and keeps your changes. New cards go to the bottom of an edited size.
- Back to automatic drops your tablet or phone changes, and that size follows the desktop layout again.
- Laptop and Small phone always follow Desktop. Choose them to see the result; you edit them through Desktop.
Preview without editing
If you can edit a dashboard, the screen-size button next to the notifications bell opens the same bar while you view it. Pick any size to see how the dashboard looks on that screen. Nothing changes and nothing is saved; close the bar to go back to your window's size.
Embedded dashboards follow the width your product gives them, using the layouts you set here.
Arrange resets edited tablet and phone layouts, so every size follows the arranged desktop layout.
Exported PDFs and scheduled reports use the desktop layout.
Ask for a layout
The assistant and agents connected through the MCP lay out cards the same way:
- Ask the assistant to "tidy this dashboard" to arrange the sheet, or "tidy it but keep the order".
- Say where a new card goes ("put it at the top", "make it full width") and it is placed there. Otherwise it is placed by kind, as above.
The change appears on the dashboard unsaved, with Undo, like any other change the assistant makes.
